Practices of reenactment, of reconstructing and anticipating future events, play a key role in many cultural fields. This includes the field of psychotherapy, where they are relevant since the 18th century. Current cultural research have increasingly addressed artistic varieties of reenactment - but connections to this parallel history of (re-)enactment have hardly been recognized.
